🧾 Job Description and Key Responsibilities
As a Cluster Control Officer, you’ll be working closely with your Cluster Control Manager to ensure effective control procedures and risk management across several branches.
Your key duties include:
- Assist in conducting maiden visits to new branches to assess the control environment and ensure physical control over equipment and assets.
- Investigate fraudulent or unusual incidents in collaboration with senior control officers or managers. Perform daily reviews of IT control reports, credit activities, and other control-related tasks as directed by the Cluster Control Manager.
- Ensure prompt and accurate preparation of month-end reports and other required documentation. Document all identified policy or procedural breaches observed during routine checks.
- Follow up and ensure closure of exceptions noted during audits or investigations. Escalate unresolved exceptions to higher management for further resolution.
- Continuously identify and report process gaps or control weaknesses for improvement.
- Providede advisory and decision support to branch managers on control procedures and risk mitigation.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with information security standards as outlined in the bank’s Information Security Handbook.
🎓 Qualifications and Experience
Educational Requirements
Minimum of a First Degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other numerical disciplines.
Experience
Minimum of 1 year eexperience in Internal Control, Audit, or Risk Management, preferably within a financial institution.
